Brilliant support from Microsoft X-Box people in UK. Picked up console on friday by courier, delivered today in full working order with replacement DVD drive and motherboard. Free - no pain no hassle - if only everyone else (and even other parts of Microsoft) were this good then 'the world would be a better place' :D
