EDF Energy Supplier in meltdown?

EDF Energy seem to be struggling to do the most basic things - like sign up a new customer. Quote from a 'Ryan Millar' (fictitious person as it's a no-reply address??):
We are currently upgrading our systems to enhance our customer service; as a result we have seen higher than usual volumes within our business and this is inevitably impacting our ability to respond promptly.
Which equates to 'we tried to change things but we've f**ked up' as far as I can tell.
