CON-servation?

May well be accusable (is that a word) of bandwagon jumping here, but this is a thought that has begun to dawn in my tiny brain too.

Matching the deeds and some of the words of some well known figures and bodies in the conservation world with reality and with each other, you start to see that they usually each have their own little agenda and 'whole world' conservation is pushed far to the sidelines in the race to save the one particular bird, toad, newt or whatever. Sports or activities that would probably have very little impact on the 'environment' are banned in the name of conservation, while close by those with big money backing or some political clout behind them are allowed to continue or are even to grow.

Sorry to those few that read this, but no linky for this one as BBC2 have such little faith in this odd program they haven't bothered to set up a web paage. Or maybe that sort of thing is beyond these arty types?

Anyway I liked it and it got me feeling all arty - probably along with about the 5 other sad cases who were the total audience tonight. Might have to sharpen up the old chainsaw & try a bit more carving... ;)

Amazon Marketplace - take care!

Amazon Marketplace - a cautionary tale.

Buyers using Amazon's marketplace should beware certain traders using slightly 'sharp' practice. Blaming the lack of an 'alternate product' button they are selling goods that are different from the main product advertised. For example you may see a picture of a genuine Olypus battery charger, but what you receive is an alternative, non-Olympus model. There are mechnisms to get a refund and most traders will offer a partial refund in order to keep their customers happy. This doesn't avoid the fact that you may not quite get what you wanted in the first place and will have to incurr the cost of mailing the article back if you want a full refund.

Will Amazon take steps to rectify this, or will they be happy to allow Marketplace to continue in this slightly dodgy manner?
